Even though one reviewer who has a much bigger hat sized head than me said he/she ordered extra small because the band stretches I ordered small and am glad I did. It's quite snug but still comfortable. It takes some shifting and adjusting each time I use it to get the speakers and everything in just the right place but once I get it right it's great. I live in a big apartment building and my neighbors can get noisy even at night when it's time to go to bed. No longer a problem with this headband, I just plug it into the iPad Mini that I use for audio books and listen to my current book as I drift off.
